Funnel Your Energy For Rebuilding Together

Rebuilding 25 Homes in 5 Days

Saturday, October 1

Rebuilding Together Springfield and TD Bank are joining forces during a special five-day event in October to repair 25 homes that were damaged in the June 1 tornadoes. Volunteers from throughout the region, including 100 TD Bank volunteers, will repair roofs and chimneys, reinstall siding and windows, and make other repairs for low-income homeowners who have inadequate or no home insurance and who would otherwise be unable to get these repairs made. It is critical that these repairs are made before the winter heating season begins in earnest.

We are extremely fortunate that TD Bank, which has a strong presence in the Springfield area, is devoting both their financial and human resources to this very important project. Simon Hong, Vice President – Retail Market Manager for TD Bank, hopes that other area companies will support Rebuilding Together Springfield’s efforts.

Volunteers and donations are needed not only for actual home repairs, but for food and shelter for volunteers during the work days and transportation to and from home sites. We will be setting up an on-line volunteer registration form shortly.

To date the following organizations have offered support with volunteers, funding or donations:

  • Home Depot
  • United Bank
  • Kitchens by Curio
  • Rocky’s Ace Hardware
  • Springfield Christian Ministries
  • Skanska
  • Hampden Bank
  • Columbia Gas
  • WMECO
  • Sears Holding Corporation
  • Salvation Army
  • CABO – CT Alliance for Business Opportunities
