Northampton is moving forward on several fronts to help do our share of implementing the Pioneer Valley Clean Energy Plan.

City Council and the Mayor agreed to sign the memorandum of agreement to help implement the plan.

The ordinance to create a new Northampton Energy and Sustainability Commission (being taken through the process by Chris Mason) is moving through the City Council committee structure and should come out for a vote in a month or two.

The final paperwork towards getting the completed Senior Center certified as LEED Silver goes in this spring.

The new Police Station Building Committee is looking at a LEED Silver or maybe even Gold police station.

River Valley Market on the north end of King Street has just put up a 30 kilowatt solar electric array, complemented by lots of energy efficiency and conservation work on their new store. They plan to open the store the end of April.
