Drive to my local vegs or Walk to my driven vegs 2008/06/03 21:50 Karma: 0
So, here's something interesting that I've been contemplating:

In my rurally located city, I can walk to a grocery store. But, their organic veggies are very very expensive and imported from all over the place.

OR

I can drive 30 minutes to pick up local produce.

Is it more important for me to spend money on the gas to support the local farmer's for my cheap organic veggies? Or is it better to keep my car from spewing fumes into the air so I can walk over and buy veggies that were imported by spewing fumes.

It seems to me that I should put in the time driving, but it's so much easier and instantly rewarding to walk on over.

What do you think?
